Friends of the Library
BE A FRIEND OF THE LIBRARY
Founded in 1989, the Friends of the Library is a non-profit organization that encourages gifts of funds, books, and other materials to stimulate public interest and use of the library.
WHAT WE DO
Book Sale: Volunteer at Polk County Library book sale events and certain programs
Fundraising: Raise funds to help provide supplies for library programs and coffee station
Other Projects: Assist with beautification projects (e.g. furniture, landscaping, etc.)
PERKS OF BEING A FRIEND
Volunteering: Do you have community service or volunteer hour you need or want to fulfill? Membership fees are tax deductible.
Active Citizenship: Vote on important Friends issues, make a difference in you local library and community!
Fun Events: Every member is invited to annual events like the Friends Banquet and Ozark S’mores Festival. Friends can also be the first to claim items at the Book Sale Preview before the sale is open to the public.
Make Friends: This is a great opportunity to welcome new people into your social sphere and to meet others with similar interest!
MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS
Annual Membership:
- $10 individual
- $15 family
Volunteer at least once a year
Respond to other members about Friends projects and issues
